We want to dare to go further. This is Startup OutReach Brasil.

Participation in all program activities (e.g. individual and group mentoring, seminars, internationalization workshop, service round, pitch training, matchmaker consulting, presentation to a panel of clients and investors, tech mentorship) is free of charge to all participants, with the exception of the consultancy focused on internationalization, which:

(i) It will be offered in a 100% subsidized manner for innovative businesses that are configured as micro and small companies, according to the classification of Complementary Law no. 123/2006 (annual gross revenue up to R$4.8 million per year).
(ii) The selected medium and large companies may be sent a list of possible service providers, for individual contracting, at the company’s discretion, if requested.

Travel and lodging costs at the destination are  the responsibility of the entrepreneur.

Startups can participate that have a finalized product/service to market, MPV or prototype, and that already have income or have received some type of investment.

Applications must be made with the online form available on the program’s official website. General information should be presented about the business model, staff qualification and the objectives that the startup intends to achieve with international expansion.

The projects are evaluated in four dimensions: Degree of Innovation, Mapping of the target market, Maturity for international insertion and team composition.

Yes, the entrepreneurs must be fluent in English.

The Startup OutReach Brasil program is divided into three steps:

 

– Virtual Mission: the first stage of the program is conducted entirely online. Its objective is to train and guide the startup in the prospection of business partners in the destination country. Forty startups are selected that receive training in making international pitches, technical and collective mentoring, and participate in a business agenda organized by a matchmaker, as well as other activities.

 

– Immersion Mission: the 15 best startups of the Virtual Mission participate in this stage. It offers in-person and online activities, with the aim of improve training and promoting the immersion of the companies in the innovation ecosystem. The entrepreneurs participate in an international mission, visit innovation ecosystems, meet some of the main actors in the innovative entrepreneurship environment of the destination country and have the opportunity to present their businesses in person to investors, and potential clients and partners.


– Follow-up Mission: landing stage support for the 5 startups that stood out in the Immersion Mission. Its objective is to encourage companies to plan their return to the market and deepen the relationships and business opportunities prospected during the Immersion Mission. At this stage, the qualifying companies receive the support of a matchmaking service to carry out more business agendas in the destination country.

Up to forty (40) startups will be pre-selected to participate in the Virtual Mission stage; of these, up to fifteen (15) companies will be selected for the Immersion Mission stage, and then up to five (5) startups can qualify for the Follow-up Mission.

The program offers activities online and in person, which will only be held if sanitary and legal conditions allow.

Round-trip air travel for one person may be provided, to the five (5) startups with the best classification in the Virtual Mission, if there is budgetary and legal approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs “Programa de Diplomacia da Inovação” (Innovation Diplomacy Program).  This possibility will be confirmed when the companies selected for the Immersion Mission Stage are named.
